Mitchell Psychological Services, Inc., offers comprehensive psychotherapy modalities to treat and manage a wide variety of mental health issues. Dr. Mitchell has been working in the mental health field since the mid 1980’s, working with diverse populations in varied settings to include private practice, community mental health and inpatient facilities (acute and chronic care units).
Dr. Mitchell opened her private practice in 1991 and has been continuously providing services to the community to include individuals, couples, adolescents and children. She has extensive experience in applied psychodynamic theory, cognitive therapy, play therapy modalities, couples treatment and specialized techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has worked with geriatric clients in nursing home private practice settings.
Dr. Mitchell has experience in assessment protocols and has conducted disability evaluations for the Social Security Administration. In her practice, assessment is typically conducted within the context of treatment, except when specifically requested, in order to shape and hone treatment.
The office is located in a residential setting, close to public transportation (regional rail and multiple SEPTA bus routes). The office provides a comfortable, relaxed setting in a Tudor style converted 100 year old home.
Most insurance plans are accepted (other than Medicaid).
